Forward Leeds is an alcohol and drug service in Leeds for adults, young people and families.

Bereavement Support

Grief and Loss Support Service
The West Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership Grief and Loss Support Service is for anyone suffering any form of grief and loss, or those worried about losing someone, whether this relates to a family member, friend or member of their community.

West Yorkshire & Harrogate Suicide Bereavement Service
West Yorkshire & Harrogate Suicide Bereavement Service provides practical and emotional support to people who have been affected by a suicide bereavement. In Kirklees and Leeds, this includes support for children and families. 

Gambling

GamCare Yorkshire & Humber
GamCare Yorkshire & Humber (GamCare) provides free treatment to any who has suffered from gambling harms (whether it is the gambler themselves or an affected other). In addition, GamCare reaches out to the business sector, social care sector, and third sector services to offer free training around gambling harms, signposting and referrals, and community outreach work.

NHS Northern Gambling Service
The NHS Northern Gambling Service provides specialist addiction therapy and recovery to people affected by gambling addiction, as well as those with mental health problems. They also provide help to people close to those with gambling addiction.

Men's Health

Andy’s Man Club
Andy’s Man Club offers real, non-judgmental, talking groups for men aged 18+. The charity is based nationally across the UK. They meet every Monday at 7pm (except bank holidays).

Leeds Dads
Leeds Dads is a Leeds based voluntary organisation that brings together a diverse community of fathers for social activities and support.

Man About Town
Man About Town aims to inspire and encourage men in Leeds who may be socially isolated and at risk of suicide to engage back in the wider community through a series of creative, practical and fun sessions including both music and the digital arts.

Men’d
Men’d is a service for men aged 18 and over, living, working in or connected to Horsforth who may be socially isolated, at risk of or experiencing thoughts of suicide.

Men’s Health Support Phoneline
Are you struggling and don’t know where to turn? Give Men’s Health a call. They offer confidential and understanding initial support and advice, they can also link you up with projects and services that will be able to help you further. The support line is available Monday-Thursday 9.30am-4.30pm on 07435 919837

MindWell 
MindWell is the mental health website for people in Leeds, with information about support in the city and different ways to take care of your mental wellbeing.

Offload – Rugby League Cares
The Offload project involves men engaging with current and former players to learn the techniques clubs use to manage players’ mental and physical fitness. Leeds: Tuesdays 7pm – Headingley Stadium, LS6 3BR.

Touchstone Wellbean Café crisis support
The Touchstone Wellbean Cafe is open 7 nights a week from 6pm-12am. They are currently operating all 1-1 supports over the phone and face to face support via Zoom which can be downloaded free of charge on any android phone.

Dial House @Touchstone crisis support

Leeds Dads
Leeds Dads is a Leeds based voluntary organisation that brings together a diverse community of fathers for social activities and support.

PARENTS Online
PARENTS Online offers text-based emotional support to parents/carers who may have experienced separation from children or a relationship breakdown, which is a key factor in suicide. The service can be used anonymously and is staffed by trained peer support workers with their own lived experience of parenting. Available Monday-Friday 6pm-9pm.

Self Harm

Battle Scars
Battle Scars provides a peer support group for anybody affected by self-harm: those who self-harm and those supporting them.

​​​​​​​Harmless
Harmless is a user led organisation that provides a range of services about self-harm and suicide prevention including support, information, training and consultancy to people who self-harm and those at risk of suicide.  They also offer support and training to service users’ friends, families and professionals who are involved in their care.

Veterans Support

Veterans Mental Health Complex Treatment Service
Veterans Mental Health Complex Treatment Service is for military veterans who have complex mental health problems, many of whom will have experienced trauma from their service.

Combat Stress
Combat Stress is a charity for veterans’ mental health. They help former servicemen and women deal with issues like post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety and depression.

MindMate is here to help young people in Leeds find help with their mental health and wellbeing.

Kooth
Any 10-18 year old in the Leeds area can sign themselves up anonymously for free, safe, same-day, BACP accredited support on Kooth.com. The online community offers free counselling and drop in chats via our live chat system, advice articles, discussion boards and activities all designed to improve emotional and mental health. You won’t need a referral, and there aren’t any thresholds or waiting lists, just head to the Kooth homepage to create your account.
